COMPANIONSHIP THERAPY
View of human nature
companionship, everyone of us needs companion or sometimes we called friends, or a person whom we can talk
to whenever we are in need, we as a human it is natural to us to feel sometimes that we are left behind that sometimes could lead us to become feeling alone and perhaps even you have experienced it already. but the question is how are we going to accept things things that we called phenomena, a phenomena is sometimes occurs like a thief we never know when or how will it happen, how sure you are that if ever it occurs you are ready to accept it? this question will lead us to this therapy called a companion therapy.
Function of the therapist
here in this therapy the function of the therapist is to provide a play or facilitating play rather in order to help the client to cope up in his tragic situation. the therapist here will serve not just a therapist but instead a playmate or a companion rather so the client will never feel that he/she is being left. the client that this therapy can help are the people who can't cope up with their situation like the people who is in denial that still believing that their love ones are still existing, the people who are have experienced a natural disaster, or perhaps a woman or a child who have experienced an abuse. with the help of the therapist as their companion the therapist for us much as possible will sympathize to them so they wont feel alone or being left behind.
Goals of the therapy
the main goal of this therapy is to help the client to speak out their problems and to cope up, and to find solution to their problem as well. this therapy letting the client to realize that after death or after an tragic situation there is a new day to come to start a new life, it makes the client that he/she is not alone because there are still a life that he/she should continue, it also helps the client to realize that sometimes things really happen naturally. tragedy or death comes naturally its a natural phenomenon that we all of us will need to face .. it help the client to be strong to face the truth and the situation. and thats the major goals of this therapy.

EVALUATION FOR TERMINATION AND FOLLOW UP
There are 2 criteria should be used in determining whether to continue therapy. these are:
1) Family goals should be met
2) New goals should be established
These 2 criteria are important to avoid family to think or feel that therapy is not working and don't be upset with the therapist.
there are several guidelines the therapist should follow when terminating with the family:
1) Plan for termination in advance
2) plan to gradually withdraw therapy
3) summarize the major themes
4) Ask the family to decide what needs to happen for them to return to therapy.
5) Reassure the family that they have the strengths and resources to deal with future problems.
CONDUCTING FOLLOW-UP EVALUATION
FOLLOW-UP> it allows the therapist to find out how the family is progressing and to discuss new problems if any have developed.
> It can be short-term (2-4 weeks) or long term (3-6 months) here are several reasons for follow-up contact with the family. these reasons are:
1) Many families need a booster shot following termination
2) Follow-up helps assess the effectiveness of the intervention program.
3) Planned follow-up encourages the family to monitor their own change program and thus benefit from contact with the therapist.
There are several ways he therapist can conduct follow-up;
1) Conduct a follow-up interview at home or office.
2) Make a telephone call.
3) Mail a questionnaire to the family.
EVALUATIONS IN TRAINING
- Formal evaluations of therapists are often model-specific, they evaluate the trainee's mastery of the therapeutic process specified by a certain school of family therapy.
- In addition to these formal methods of evaluating trainees, it is important for family therapists to monitor their own progress and development in personal ways.
- In addition, when family therapists evaluate their own patterns of fatigue and stagnation, their own creativity and growth can be maximized.
EVALUATION AS CLINICAL RESEARCH
-Clinicians are rarely up to call themselves recherches or scientists.
- Recherches connotes an interest in the explicit, observable, and quantifiable parts of human experience.
- The family therapists see that clinical research can have great relevance to their work.
- Ethnographic studies on client perceptions can provide therapists with a mirror of their professional role.
- Clinicians can participate in systematic inquiry for formal and informal research as clinicians begin to observe and understand these patterns, their work can be influenced by the new information.
- Family therapists are currently learning more about the relevance of quantitative research.
